While having my morning coffee I watched a video by Simon Sinek this morning about two kinds of people: those who only see what they want, their goal, and those who only see the obstacles.
You can watch Simon’s story about ‘Free Bagels’ here
In summary: The first person doesn’t know at the start how to reach that goal (get those free bagels) but because they are so focused on getting what they want, they find a way to get there.
The second one focuses on all the obstacles (the long queue) and reasons why it’s not possible or worth it…. and just gives up before even trying.
I see this all the time in Social media marketing. You can give the same tools and strategies to two people but they can get vastly different results because they have a different mindset about how they go about it.
All I want to say today is: Don’t be that second person!
If you really want something, keep asking yourself ‘How can I do it?’ until you find a way. Do not stop before you find at least the first step!
Because the questions you ask determine the answers you get and solutions you find! Simple and powerful! If something seems impossible: ask first if this thought is true or helpful and challenge it!
Everything great that has been ever created was impossible until it was done! Think about that for a moment!
And when you have your answer, try asking ‘What else is possible now’? Someone asked me that question this week and it was mind blowing! That was a question I had never asked myself. It opens up a whole new level of possibilities AFTER you have stopped asking questions!!
Take a deep breath!
Have an amazing week!
